If Springfield Public Schools decides to cancel for Monday after this weekend's winter storm, an official said they hope to make that call Sunday.
As if temperatures in the negatives weren't enough, the Springfield region is expected to get snow this weekend.
Springfield Mayor Sarno and city officials are providing an update on the upcoming nor'easter snow storm, which is expected to bring up to a foot of snow and extremely cold temperatures, and are urging residents and businesses to be prepared.

SPRINGFIELD – Isolated tornadoes are possible in the afternoon on Jan. 8 in Springfield. More generally, isolated severe storms are on track to affect the area late this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service out of Lincoln. Damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes are the primary hazards.
