Hobby wildlife photographer Ryan Claus captured these trapdoor spiders in the mountains that border Brisbane’s north-west, Mt Glorious and Mt Nebo. He's “pretty confident” it’s the Euoplos regalis, which was only recently discovered. They have a long life span, between 5 to 20 years, but are extremely hard to find. “The best way to find them would be to go out at night and look for slightly ajar lids.
