The El Nino-driven jet stream pattern is looking quite amplified for late next week. We could have some highs in the 40s or even low 50s at that point. | News 9 WAOW

We have a meridional jet stream pattern with highly amplified troughs & ridges. The ridge (red = above normal heights) that is currently in place is responsible for our fair weather this week. It gets replaced by a trough (blue = below normal heights) next week. The trough will lead to a return of February temperatures & it can lead to storminess. Uncertainty remains this far out how much of that storminess will include snow. | Jeff Oechslein - NEWS9
